STILA Kitten (Eyeshadow Single)

Happy Easter, lovelies! I always mentally kick myself when I realize that I have forgotten to post for prolonged periods of time; I'm working on that!

Anywho, today I've got the Stila eyeshadow in Kitten sitting next to my laptop. Whispered amongst the likes of Urban Decay's Sin, MAC's Shroom, and other champagne eyeshadows, Kitten is one of of Stila's best-sellers.

Stila Rose Gold Trio's Lightest Color (left), Stila Kitten, NYX Yogurt

Rose Gold Trio (left), Nyx Yogurt, Stila Kitten

Compared to two different yet similar colors, Kitten looks more of a sandy pink than a coral-champagne or sheer shimmer, like the others.

As the description says, "a shimmering nude pink" I think that pink sands or pink champagne is a better description than just saying that it's pink. Some of Stila's eyeshadows are really soft and creamy, while some are completely hard and powdery.

With the pot that I got, I found that I had to apply several layers to get a large color payoff, unlike the Rose Gold Trio. It's kinda weird to me how their eyeshadows can have such different textures yet all be in the same brand, but I don't think we'll ever know the answer.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend for you guys to go check this one out, as the pink undertones may not work 100% perfect with everyone, only seeing for yourself will be able to determine that.

I bought the Stila Kitten set at the Nordstrom Rack for $14, which included the eyeshadow, a lip glaze, an all-over shimmer duo, and a high-shine lip gloss.

Have you tried this? Let me know in the comments below!

Bright Crystal by Versace

Remember when I said that Bath and Body Works' Japanese Cherry Blossom was the best? (You probably don't, but I won't hold it against you.)
I've officially changed my mind. Introducing, Bright Crystal by Versace!

"Inspired by a mixture of Donatella Versace's favorite floral fragrances, Bright Crystal is a fresh, sensual blend of refreshing chilled yuzu and pomegranate mingled with soothing blossoms of peony, magnolia, and lotus flower, warmed with notes of musk and amber.

If this could be described in one word, it would have to be tropical. Bright Crystal is not specifically tropical, but also floral and clean. The Style in the description is 100% accurate. I'll admit- I have absolutely no idea how Yuzu, Acajou, and Vegetal Amber smell. My guess would be like an orange, wood, and, well, amber, I suppose.
The first notes you're going to smell are pomegranate, Yuzu, and iced Accord. (Top notes) After that, it's lotus, magnolia, and peony. (The middle notes.)

I have a really weird nose, and I tend classify things perfumes/fragrances into three categories: (1) Smells like un-scented hand sanitizer. (2) PLEASE TAKE THIS OFF ITS BURNING MY NOSTRILS AAAAHHHHH HELP ME! (3) Ooh! I can smell it! This smells good. (This category branches off from there.)

It's fun and fruity, meanwhile being poised and elegant.
This fragrance is great for the day (any time of year, but more so summer) and remains fruity.

I'd say that it is a must-buy.

Overall Ratings:
Packaging: 3.5/5
Scent: 5/5
Price: $50-$90

So, our overall rating for Versace Bright Crystal is 4.5/5.

Tropical Traditions~ Coconut Oil

Besides lotions, fragrances, and soaps, there are other "I-wouldn't-have-guessed" products that can be very useful too in the same field. If you've been on Pinterest or Tumblr, you've probably seen something about coconut oil.

I was a bit skeptical at first when I heard this- Coconut Oil? Like, the stuff from the actual coconut? After scouring the internet for more info, I found some amazing uses:

-As a basic, non-irritaing lotion
-To treat keratosis pilaris (little bumps on the skin- my friend tried this, and it worked!)
-as a lip balm
-an eye makeup remover
-helps with eczema
-oil pulling
-shaving cream

One brand that's definitely worth trying is Tropical Traditions- a sample was sent in for review, and it was so creamy, and smelled amazing!

Strawberry Feels Forever (VDay#4)

It looks like a strawberry. It smells like a strawberry. Because it is! Lush's Strawberry Feels Forever Massage bar.

Lush's Strawberry Feel Forever is sure to amaze. It is a massage bar, which is used to make your skin soft and smelling great. This smells EXACTLY like sweet strawberries.

Also, add on a bit of Lush's Vanilla Puff Powder, for a strawberry milkshake smell.

Overall, this is a very sweet massage bar, and is a must buy.

Mushroom Magic Bubble Bar (VDay#3)

Lush's cutest bubble maker is back. The Magic Mushroom. The magic mushroom is a cute, sweet smelling strawberry and vanilla combo. The red cap holds the vanilla scents, and the stem is the strawberry. To use it, use it similarly to the bubble wands. Swish it over the water for instant bubbles.

I think this is adorable. It smells like the description, but it was more overpowering than anything. Definitely not as strawberry as my next review, but awesome all the same.

It's available at Lush for only a very limited time, so stock up before they disappear!

Revenge is Sweet~The Ex-Factor (VDay#2)

Revenge is oh-so-sweet. When love is not in the air on Valentine's Day, time to use what you've got left. Revenge.

If you're in the need for some cynical revenge, look no farther. Lush's the Ex-Factor is sure to please.

The Ex-Factor is a BATH BOMB, not soap. (Like a bath fizzer, just a lot cooler.)

The bath bomb smells like a warm, musky vanilla. The scent of revenge. (Which I had no idea it was, until now. At least that explains why people eat vanilla ice cream when they are sad.)

All you have to do is tear apart the little man limb by limb, maniacally cackling along the way, until you get to his heart. Then, BOOM!
Revenge satisfied.

He's only here for a little while, so pick him up while you can!

Valentine's Day Event~ The Willow Pattern Soap

Valentine's Day is a day for sweet things. And what better than sweet smelling soaps, lotions, and fragrances?
Here is part one of our Valentine's Day countdown event.

WILLOW PATTERN SOAP

Lush's newest Valentine's day soap, the Willow Pattern, definitely makes a mark. The scent is VERY strong, not precisely smelling like the description.

The description says it smells like rose petals and lemon. Two of my all time favorite scents. But this one did not smell exactly like either. I could smell more rose than lemon, and it just smelled a little funky. It's not my favorite scent, but it definitely smells good.

Aeropostale~ Promise Me

I find it very sad that most promising-looking fragrances smell like overloaded hand-sanitizer. That eye-watering, weird scent that smells so strong you can't stand it.

I hoped this would be different. The description online is "vanilla and summer breeze." Uh, no. To me, it smells like overloaded hand sanitizer. (And not the good kind like Emilie's Top 10)
Maybe I just have a weird schnoz, but this isn't one that I would buy. It's also very expensive for the small bottle.

Review: Bath Bomb Space Girl (Lush)

This is one of Lush's most popular bath bombs. I thought since it is I would share my thoughts on it. I really like it because it makes your bath water a really pretty purple color. The scent is a very light fruity and floral scent. I wish it was a little stronger because it is very light. I like the look of the bath bomb. Overall I recommend this bath bomb to annyone. Also the lush bath bombs are great for little kids because it will make them want to take a bath.

I hope you guys liked this review. If you have a product you love and think I should try. Leave it in the comments.

Review: Snow Frosted Apple Soap (Bath & Body Works)

Yet another Bath and Body Works product I purchased over the holidays. I bought this because I was thinking it would smell like Fresh Market Apple. It does but with more of a crisp scent and it's not as sweet which makes it good to use as a hand soap.

I hope you enjoyed this review. Have a product you love and think I should try? Comment down below.

Emilie's Top 5 (Bath & Body Works) Hand Sanitizers

5. Warm Vanilla Sugar
This is a classic from Bath and Body Works. I really like it because it isn't to over powering of a scent and it smells literally just like the name.

4. Fresh Picked Strawberries
Sometimes I just want a really nice berry scent and this is that scent. This is a very strong sweet scent but I happen to enjoy it a lot. I was hoping for a refreshing strawberry scent but this is a pretty good pocketbac after all.

3. Winter Cranberry
I buy this scent every single year around the holidays. I really like it because it smells like cranberries but it isn't that strong. It isn't too sweet either so that makes me really enjoy it. 2 words: BUY IT! It is limited edition but comes back every year during the holiday season

2. Fresh Picked Tangerines
This is a very refreshing scent. It isn't very sweet so it does smell like a true tangerine which makes me enjoy it so much. Mine is almost out and I need to restock. This scent is very tangy but still a great scent. Overall I really enjoy this and I use it every day.

(Drumroll please.........)

1.Fresh Market Apple!!!
This scent smells like an apple. I just can't get enough of this scent. It is so refreshing and light. It's just perfect. I really don't know what to say about this scent but: WOW! You should definatly check this scent out the next time you go to Bath and Body Works!

Review: Cinnamon Frosting Candle (Bath & Body Works)

This is a candle I bought from Bath and Body Works around the holiday season. I really like their candles because they make your whole room smell like the scent. I think the cinnamon frosting scent is one of their best scents yet. It smells like cinnamon with a sweet kick to it. I really like it because the "frosting" part of the candle doesn't overpower the cinnamon. Their candles are a bit pricey but they will last a while and are defiantly worth your money. Overall I really great candle and an even better scent.

I hope you enjoyed this review. Have a product that you love? Comment below and I'll look into trying it. :)

Review~ Lush Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly

Looking for something fun, sparkly, and has the consistency of jello? Yeah, so maybe that's a bit specific. But who cares? Lush's Sweetie Pie shower jelly is definitely something you don't want to pass up.

"Our sweetest shower jelly is also our best-seller! Between the fruity fragrance, the iridescent glitter that leaves a sparkle on your skin, and the seaweed base that leaves your skin softened and refreshed, it’s irresistible. And while we know our blackcurrant and sour cherry wobbler smells good enough to eat, we recommend you curb your cravings and hop in the shower and wash with Sweetie Pie instead. Smooth it all over your body (and your hair too!) for a sweet yet sophisticated cleansing experience."      -Lush Website Description

I have to say that the description of the smell is pretty spot-on. While I'm not the biggest fan of cherry or coconut, it blends together so pefectly. I purchased the small version of this, not exactly sure how fast I'd use it up. I expected it to be finished within a month, but my surprise when it lasted several! I eventually had to throw it away, however, because the consistency had become watery, and smelled awful.

Overall Ratings:
Scent: 4
Packaging: 3
Durability/How long it lasts: Several months, depending on size and usage.
Price: Small: $6.99, Large: $11.99

Overall score: 3.5!

Note: This is an updated version of the original review. Looking back at the reviews when this blog was started, I find my reviews to have been extremely short and distasteful- so I am rewriting them, slowly but surely.

Review: Gud (Burt's Bee's) Vanilla Flame Body Mist

I got this body mist in the summer and I have used it so much. The scent is a really warm and rich vanilla scent which I like a lot. All the items in the product line are natural which makes it a lot better for you. I sometimes bring this to school and use it after gym and it's not too over powering which makes it perfect for school. I also think the scent is perfect for winter and fall but can also be worn in the spring and summer. The packaging is great because it's no too big which makes it easier to transport.
I hope all of you enjoyed this review and comment if you think there is a product you recommend for me to try.
